What is the NPORS 360 Excavator course?
The NPORS N202  360 Degree Excavator Operator Training Course is an in depth hands-on training activity designed to equip learners with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to safely operate  excavators on the workplace.
The course provides a strong foundation to enable learners to manoeuvre, use and maintain excavators the the workplace, ensuring they meet site safety standards and follow best practices.

Who should attend the NPORS 360 degree excavator course?: The NPORS  Excavator Operator Training Course is open to both beginners with no prior experience and experienced operators who are looking to obtain a recognised qualification. Training durations as well as the costcan vary based on your existing skills and experience.
The training is delivered by a team of instructors with decades of boots on the ground experience with a solid understanding of complex excavation techniques and current Industry safety standards. 

What's does the NPORS 360 degree excavator course include? By the end of the training course you should have strong skills in the following areas:

  • Have a solid understanding of the construction industry, the hazards associated with working in the industry and your legal duties are as an operator

  • Have a sound knowledge of the excavators manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used including understanding lifting capacity charts

  • Be able to locate and identify the major components and safety features of the machine and explain their functions

  • Be able to locate and identify tracking, slewing and isolation controls and use them to carry out their functions

  • Conduct all on the ground and on the machine pre operational checks in accordance with the manufacturers and legislative requirements

  • Configure the machine for travel and manoeuvre it safely across varying terrain in open and confined areas including inclines and spoil heaps

  • Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area and set up exclusion zones for excavator works

  • Manoeuvre the machine to the work area and correctly configure it in readiness to carry out excavation tasks.

  • Understand associated equipment and their functions including cable avoidance tools and dimensional control equipment such as laser levels

  • Be able to carry out precision excavation tasks at varying depths. 

  • Load materials into dumpers for transportation as well as have a string understanding of spoil types and their characteristics

  • Carry out reinstatement of excavations, grade and level ground

  • Be able to fit and remove attachments as well as understand each bucket type and their uses

  • Carry out all end of shift shutdown and isolation procedures

How will I be assessed? Throughout the course, operatives will undergo both theoretical assessments and practical evaluations to gauge their progress.
Upon successful completion of the Excavator Operator Training Course, participants will receive a nationally recognised card which will be valid for 5 years for traditional NPORS cards or 2 years for CSCS logo NPORS. This can be converted to a blue competent operator card on completion of the relevant NVQ and would then be valid for 5 years.

Do I have to attend the full course if I'm already experienced? 
The training course welcomes individuals with varying levels of experience and it's possible to take an experienced worker test on site. Your trainer will discuss timescales and agree a training programme with you based on your experience. 

What is the price of the NPORS 360 excavator course
The price of the course there is depending upon your experience and training location, experienced worker tests with no training required can be carried out from as little as £250 + VAT making it one of the most commercially viable qualification schemes on the market.
