The Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Controlling Lifting Operations -Supervising Lifts (Construction) qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed as Lift supervisor to undertake this qualification.

This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and Recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can upgrade to the blue CPCS or NPORS Competent operator card.

What's involved in the NVQ level 4 crane supervisor?


To achieve this NVQ you'll need to provide  evidence to demonstrate that you are a competent Lift Supervisor. Evidence can include:
 
  • An observation report from your assessor
  • A witness testimony from your line manager
  • Photographs and videos
  • Work Based evidence
  • Professional discussion
  • Knowledge Questions

There are Eight mandatory units to complete:
  1. Supervising Lifting Operations Using Lifting Equipment in the Workplace
  2. Maintaining the Dimensional Accuracy of the Work in the Workplace
  3. Maintaining Systems for Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental Protection in the Workplace
  4. Developing and Maintaining Good Occupational Working Relationships in the Workplace
  5. Co-ordinating Preparation Work for Site or Lifting Operations in the Workplace
  6. Coordinating and Organising the Control of Work in the Workplace
  7. Allocating and monitoring the use of plant, machinery, equipment or vehicles in the workplace
  8. Allocating Work and Checking People's Performance in the Workplace

How long will the NVQ level 4 process take? 

This assessment is usually completed in 3-6 months.
